Last August, something rare happened on Martha's Vineyard. Two hundred leaders — funders, policymakers, legal minds, artists, and community builders — came together for the inaugural Pursuit of Home convening, united by a single truth: home and land are the foundation of intergenerational wealth, and protecting them demands more than good intentions. It demands infrastructure.
What began as an evening became a coalition.
In the year since, we have carried the conversation forward — across policy, capital, and community. Across the country, more than $32 billion in property value remains tangled in heirs' property, and hundreds of thousands of family-owned homes and lands sit at risk of being lost. The work of changing that story is underway, and it is gaining ground.
On August 11, we return to the Vineyard — to take stock, and to take the next step.
